 Smart Films Ambiance - The Smart Choice for Home and Office Windows

Films smart enough to stop heat and not light” - So your home won’t feel dark

The Smart Films range of window tinting films can distinguish between the visible light we want in our homes and the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (heat) we want to keep out.

Typically, Smart Films Ambiance films let in twice as much light as a standard window tinting film that has a similar heat reduction rating. This means high heat reduction films no longer need to make a room feel dark to be effective. Nor are Smart Films highly reflective.

Smart Films block heat and let in light so your home won't feel dark

The key to Smart Films performance is its "selectively transmitting" construction.

Standard window films work like a sun shade and block (or reflect) all parts of the solar spectrum. Smart Films has been engineered to transmit the parts of the sun's spectrum we want - such as visible light - while blocking others - such as ultraviolet and infrared radiation. This is why Smart Films can block more heat and allow in twice as much visible light as standard films

Standard window films block heat and light - this can make a home feel dark and uninviting

Smart Films™ block more heat and let in twice as much light - a smarter choice

Choose Smart Films to:

  • Keep your home cool without feeling dark;
  • Protect curtains, carpets and furnishings  against fading and sun damage; and to
  • Gain privacy (Ambiance range).

Ambiance 75 is a good choice for home tint where heat is a problem but a reasonable level of natural light is required. It is often chosen for west-facing windows requiring maximum heat protection and where good daytime privacy is required.

Benefits:

Good heat protection - 70% infrared (heat) blocked

Good fading protection - over 99% UV blocked

Good visible light transmission - 38.0% (will not make room feel dark)

Not reflective - visible light reflectance 11.7%

Ambiance 40 is a good choice where heat is a problem but a higher light level is required such as in the kitchen, laundry, family or rumpus rooms, or for east and north facing windows. Ambiance 40 is not suitable where privacy is a priority.
