HOME WINDOW TINTING

Home window tinting will block the heat and make your home feel more comfortable, reduce your air-conditioner energy costs, protect your furniture against sun damage and fading, and make your home more private. The differing amounts of visible light, infrared and UV that a film blocks, or allows to pass through the glass, gives a film its performance characteristics which, in turn, determines the film's suitability for achieving different customer priorities. What you may want window tinting to achieve in a house is often quite different to the priorities in an office.

What's the difference between standard films and Smart Films?
Standard (commercial) window tinting films control solar energy by shading the window. A bit like shade cloth that can be purchased in different densities, standard films block the visible light, the infrared and ultraviolet in equal amounts. This means standard window tinting films that achieve high heat protection will also block most of the visible light.
In contrast to the standard films that cannot distinguish between the visible light that we want in our home and the IR and UV that we want to keep out, "Smart" films were developed for home windows: for homeowners who want to block heat and glare, provide fade protection and privacy but don't want a film that will:
- make their home feel dark
- make the windows look reflective (mirrored)
- spoil a beautiful view - by day or at night
- cause trouble with the Body Corporate by changing the exterior appearance of the building
